If marriage is a traditional and religious institution then why does the STATE issue marriage licenses? - marriage licenses el paso, tx
Some wedding (mostly) cons of gay marriage on the condition of the acceptance of traditional religious institution, despite the fact that the marriage was against certain religions, certain religions have no problem with gay marriage, and marriage has a history of being among adolescents and older with mistresses and domestic violence.
However, ignoring all that, if one considers that it is a traditional religious institution, then why state broadcasting licenses of marriage GOVERNMENT? If the state does not allow religion and religious institutions of the churches?
It seems hypocritical that the government is not against their right to practice religion while at the same time secure their right to marry her.

The 1000 + laws and rights as married couples are granted a secular legal institution.
Marriage is not a religious institution for a very long time.
Marriage is not a religious institution is a legal contract, and married or single status affects their taxes and their children as inheritance, adoption, custody, etc ... andthe other legal issues. You can get married in a courthouse. The law has not recall to religion, but on the definition of marriage in the constitution and thecourts, and the fact that a large part of the Constitution is based on the Puritans and the philosophical theories of the 18th Century.

You sound like a libertarian. (like me)
I think the only argument against gay marriage, that marriage is by definition between a man and a woman. Historically, the "gay marriage" in other cultures in history, not really married. They were temporary relief.
So, if you change the definition of marriage to decide to include same-sex couples, we have to do it, by voting. Vote against Proposition 8, but I object to the court, gay marriage in a community force.
